Bodybuilders are always looking for that new edge, something to boost their energy and increase lean muscle mass, and supplement manufactures are more than happy to provide the latest supplements with the latest fads.

Aminogen has recently come onto the scene, being used in many popular bodybuilding supplements designed to increase energy, support muscle growth and maintenance, and prevent soreness with easy to absorb amino acids that help break down protein during digestion for greater natural bioavailability and preventing gas and bloating. Some also suggest that aminogen supports healthy nitrogen retention, providing immediate bursts of energy while simultaneously protecting the muscles from damage and soreness. Theoretically, aminogens do not directly contribute to muscle building, they could be considered essential due to their ability to maximize the efficiency of other ingredients like protein, NO, and creatine.

So where’s the research?

One company has conducted research on Aminogen, showing significant increases in the body’s own nitric oxide retention, even citing a 250% increase in Branched Chain Amino Acids(BCAA’s). Published in the Journal of International Society of Sports Nutrition, one such study shows that when combined with increased protein intake, Aminogen significantly increases baseline pumps, energy, and muscle amino acid retention. Add to that the fact that many consumers report that products containing aminogen work better than other products that they have tried, and clearly, Aminogen holds an important place in any protein based workout supplement.

But, as expected, some skeptics have raised concerns about the fact that all clinical studies on Aminogen seem to be funded by the parent company, Triarco Industries Inc. With these concerns in mind, many question how expensive Aminogen is.

Aminogen can typically be found in many popular protein supplements ranging from $19.99 to about $69.99 for maximum results. Protein powders obviously use aminogen to enhance the effectiveness of protein and other similar ingredients, and there is no reason to take it without. There are aminogen only products that you can find for about $13 or $14. But it would not be worth the investment as compared to protein supplements that also contain aminogens.

If you buy a protein supplement enriched with aminogen and aminogens don’t work, you still get the benefits of aminogen for the same price as a supplement without aminogen. But if it does work, you will get a more powerful and absorbable protein formula for again, the same price.
