FirmSlim is an anti-cellulite mousse that is marketed as a way to firm and smoothe the skin, slim and contour the body, and eliminate toxins.

Even though we’re almost positive our weight loss dreams cannot be achieved by slathering some cream onto our skin, we thought we better investigate FirmSlim before we make any snap judgments.

The Good

Although FirmSlim does not, for whatever reason, publish their ingredient list we were able to make some educated guesses as to how FirmSlim works.

Because FirmSlim describes itself as a thermogenically active formula, as well as possessing “diuretic qualities” which leads us to believe this is a caffeine based product.

Caffeine based anti-cellulite creams have been shown to be able to reduce the appearance of cellulite temporarily. They work by dehydrating the skin cells, thus making your skin appear tighter and firmer.

Because cellulite is not caused by an excess amount of fat, rather because of skin that is too thin, you can’t reduce cellulite simply by reducing the amount of fat you have stored.

This is why there are many skinny people that still suffer from cellulite, and why men, who typically have thicker skin than women, aren’t as prone to cellulite as their female counterparts.

The Bad

Despite the fact that FirmSlim might be able to reduce the appearance of cellulite at first, the effects of smoother skin will be fleeting at best.

Since the body doesn’t like to have its cells dehydrated, it will work to rehydrate those cells as quickly as possible.

This means that as soon as you drink a glass of water, or even stand up and walk around, your body could replace the water that FirmSlim pulled from your skin cells, leaving your cellulite just as visible as before.

The Skinny

Even if we were fine with the fact that FirmSlim will not be able to improve the condition of your cellulite for very long, we’re not even sure that it can do it at all.

Transformulas, FirmSlim’s manufacturer has ceased production of FirmSlim due to unpopularity among its users. For this reason, we don’t think FirmSlim is a wise investment.
