Irvingia Gabonensis, more commonly known as the African Mango, has been used as a common food source in West Africa for hundreds of years. Irvingia Gabonensis has recently come into the spotlight as a powerful fat burner, appetite suppressant, minimize some types of diabetes, and the only ingredient known to control an obesity hormone popularly known as leptin. The specific fat-burning agent in irvingia gabonensis is the nuts that come from the trees. And unlike many other popular “weight loss supplements,” Irvingia Gabonensis has been clinically proven.
Scientists have conducted a number of major studies over the past decade demonstrating notable weight loss benefits with the proper use of Irvingia Gabonensis. One study, published in May of 2005 in Lipids in Health & Disease, evaluated the obesity related properties of Irvingia Gabonensis. Conducted by Ngondi, Oben, and Minka, this study evaluated forty obese subjects between the ages of nineteen and fifty-five over a one month period of time.
Twenty-eight of the subjects involved consumed 350 milligrams of Irvingia Gabonensis three times a day, and the other fourteen were given an oat bran placebo thirty minutes before each major meal three times daily. All forty subjects were instructed to follow a low-fat 1800 calorie diet.
At the end of the month, the subjects who consumed Irvingia Gabonensis lost approximately 11.5 pounds while the test group lost only 2.9 pounds. And it was also noted by researchers that the Irvingia Gabonensis group demonstrated significantly lower levels of total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, triglycerides, and systolic blood pressure with a notable increase in good HDL cholesterol levels.
A second study was conducted and published in March 2008. This particular study used a considerably larger group of 120 obese individuals, but instead 150 milligrams of Irvingia Gabonensis were consumed twice daily with some subjects taking a placebo. On average those who consumed Irvingia Gabonensis lost 27% of their total weight, 6.3% of their total body fat, and the average user lost 28.1 pounds. In comparison those who consumed placebos lost 4.8% of their weight, 1.9% of their body fat, and lost 1.5 pounds total.
Numerous animal and human trials have been performed to verify the effectiveness of Irvingia Gabonensis and its ability to help obesity and health-related problems associated. At this point the results show that the Irvingia Gabonensis has the abilities to help weight loss in a natural way.
