Kaizen Chrysin
Kaizen Chrysin was developed to inhibit an enzyme called aromatase, the enzyme that converts testosterone into estrogen. Estrogen is one of bodybuilding’s worst enemies. It consumes the body’s testosterone, sapping up anabolic fuel that could be used to stack on new slabs of muscle. Kaizen Chrysin however is meant to step in and take estrogen out of the picture. This is supposed to maintain levels of testosterone which will eventually snowball into even higher levels down the line. High testosterone is a bodybuilder’s dream but does Kaizen Chrysin have the ingredients to really support it?
Kaizen Chrysin Ingredients
There are only two main ingredients in this formula. The first is 5,7-Dihydroxyflavone, or in layman’s terms- Chrysin. Chrysin is a passion flower extract that was once one of the more popular aromatase inhibitors on the market. It was made popular due to a study conducted back in the 80′s. In a lab experiment, scientists observed that Chrysin blocked the enzymes responsible for transforming testosterone into estrogen. But sadly, this evidence didn’t hold up forever. Subsequent research has found that Chrysin has no effect at manipulating estrogen or testosterone in living organisms. Further studies concluded that this was the case because Chrysin cannot be absorbed through cell lining and into the bloodstream for bodily use.
But in an effort to make Chrysin more usable to the body, Kaizen Chrysin has included a compound called Lysophosphatidylcholine (LPC). LPC is an ingredient that is thought to increase the permeability of cell membranes, opening up endothelial barriers. This anti-cell barrier function is supposed to create gaps in which Chrysin could slip through and enter the bloodstream where it could start limiting estrogen synthesis. At first, we thought this sounded like a good idea, but the research just doesn’t back it up. Currently LPC has several conflicting studies. Some research shows that it increase permeability, others say it decreases it. With these mixed results, its hard to know if LPC really does anything at all.
Conclusion
The two main ingredients in Kaizen Chrysin do not have the scientific backing you should expect from a quality testosterone supplement. Most experts conclude that Chrysin can’t reach the areas it needs to within the body to suppress estrogen nor is there overwhelming evidence that LPC will help it do so. We recommend trying something entirely different.
