Lit Up
Lit Up is a pre-workout supplement that is supposed to be able to boost your levels of testosterone and improve the efficacy of your workouts.
Since we know what a vital role the testosterone hormone plays in regulating the production of new muscle tissues, as well as the repair of older ones, we decided to look into Lit Up a little more to see what it could really offer.
What’s The Hype About Lit Up?
From people who have tried Lit Up, most people say that the best thing about this product is the taste. With flavors like Peach Tea and Cherry Citrus, they are a nice break from the boring lemon and fruit punch that most products tend to provide.
But even the most delicious pre-workout supplement is not worth buying just for the taste. Although we don’t want to endure a chalky and poorly flavored drink, we would rather have that if it works.
Does It Live Up To The Hype?
Lit Up’s website claims that it is able to boost your testosterone levels through the amino acid D-aspartic acid.
However, after researching this elusive amino acid a little more, we didn’t find D-aspartic acid to be quite as effective as Applied Nutriceuticals, its parent company, claimed it to be.
In fact, we found that not only is D-aspartic acid not any part of the process of producing testosterone within the body, it is also not even an essential amino acids for animals.
Originally synthesized by boiling asparagus juice with a very strong base, D-aspartic acid is only an essential building block for tissues of plants rather than animals.
Does It Have Any Redeeming Qualities?
Other than its creative taste, we can’t see any other reason that anyone would want to buy this pre-workout supplement.
Not only does it not do what it claims to be able to do, but it doesn’t even do more for you than any other protein source can. A glass of milk would be better for your workout than this supplement.
