For anyone who’s considered mixing drinking and hitting the gym, GAT nutrition has come out with the pre-workout supplement Muscle Martini.

Although the reference to alcohol is nothing more than a play on words, we decided to look into Muscle Martini to see if it could really offer a workout buzz or if it fell flat.

What’s The Hype About Muscle Martini?

Not only is Muscle Martini supposed to enhance your muscle mass by helping you build more tissue and preventing your body from breaking down old tissues, but it is also supposed to do all of this with fewer calories so that you can burn more fat.

GAT recognizes that not everyone who wants to build muscle is also interested in adding excess energy to be converted into fat so Muscle Martini has been formulated with low-calorie sources of protein like that of beet root powder.

Muscle Martini is also supposed to help you get rid of excess fat by curbing your appetite and eliminating emotional eating. This could theoretically help you remove layers of fat that could be hiding muscle definition.

Does Muscle Martini Live Up To The Hype?

Although GAT’s theory behind Muscle Martini is definitely an impressive one, after looking at the ingredients in this pre-workout supplement, we were not quite as enthusiastic about its results.

The majority of the formula for Muscle Martini is comprised of essential and non-essential amino acids. Even though amino acids are the building blocks for muscle tissues in the body, there has been some research to show that they can be rendered useless by the harsh acidity of the stomach.

But even more than some ineffective ingredients, Muscle Martini might also have some ingredients that could potentially be life threatening.

On its label, Muscle Martini claims to have nitrates, “the precursors to Nitric Oxide.” Although Nitric Oxide has been known to increase energy levels in the muscles, nitrates are not a biological precursor and could actually cause harm to your body.

When digested, nitrates become nitrates which can damage the iron in your body, making it unable to carry oxygen throughout the body. Not only could this hinder your workout, but it can also cause a lack of oxygen that could be fatal.

Does Muscle Martini Have Any Redeeming Qualities?

Unfortunately, Muscle Martini appears to be nothing more than a few ineffective ingredients and maybe even some dangerous ones. Because of this, we can’t recommend this product.
