In the world of pre-workout supplements, there are so many products that claim to be the best of the best. So when we came across N.O. 370, we weren’t at all surprised to see that its makers, Top Secret Nutrition, claims this pre-workout supplement is a “giant leap forward in sports nutrition.”
But rather than take Top Secret Nutrition’s word for it, we decided to investigate ourselves to see if we could crack the case on N.O. 370.
The Good
One of the main claims that Top Secret Nutrition makes about N.O. 370 is that it can boost the amount of L-Arginine that is in your blood stream. L-Arginine is often used in pre-workout supplements to improve the amount of strength in your body.
L-Arginine is an amino acid that morphs into Nitric Oxide in the body. Nitric Oxide works as a powerful neurotransmitter that can help relax the blood vessels and improve circulation.
This has been shown to greatly increase the efficacy of workouts because it can increase the body’s ability to send chemicals, nutrients and energy to your muscle tissues.
Although this is a beneficial approach to improving your muscle mass and performance, we don’t have very many indicators that N.O. 370 can actually improve the amount of L-Arginine in your body.
What we did see, however, was a very large amount of Creatine in N.O. 370’s formula. Not only was there a large dose of one kind of Creatine, but there were three different kinds of Creatines on N.O. 370’s label.
The Bad
Even though Creatine is able to increase the amount of energy that is delivered to your muscles, helping you work out harder and longer, it has also been found to have some very serious side effects.
Some research has shown that Creatine can cause kidney failure, as well as problems with the rest of the renal system. In addition, long term use of Creatine has also been found to create a large buildup of formaldehyde in the body.
The Skinny
Despite the fact that Creatine has been shown to increase your muscles’ endurance and ability to perform, it has not been shown to increase levels of L-Arginine.
Because this was one of the main claims that Top Secret Nutrition made about N.O. 370, we can’t forgive the fact that this pre-workout supplement is not capable of fulfilling it.
