Just like a new parent is completely entranced by everything their child does, we totally expect a nutrition company to be just as biased about its own product.

However, we don’t like to let the company sway our decision, so when Scivation called Novem the most potent and effective muscle builder on the market, we decided to take a step back before we evaluated the efficacy of this product.

The Good

Not only is Novem supposed to be the best way to build muscle, but Scivation also calls this product the best thing to boost your energy levels naturally.

Since we know how detrimental low levels of energy can be to a gym session, we were intrigued by Scivation’s claims and we were even more excited when they promised that Novem could do all of this without any artificial stimulants.

Another thing that caught our eye about Novem was that it is supposed to help you get rid of toxins that can be slowing your muscles down. Scivation claims that the antioxidants in Novem will work to flush out anything that could be detrimental to your workout from your body.

The Bad

Even though we like the approach that Novem took to weight loss, we can’t help but be unimpressed with the follow through.

After looking at the ingredients list, we didn’t see anything that would help your energy levels, and we actually just saw a few ingredients that have been proven to be marginally effective.

For instance, we saw a few amino acids like Beta-Alanine, L-Taurine and N-Tyrosine that have actually proven to fragile to escape damage from the harsh stomach acids.

Since the body is used to receiving amino acids from foods rather than pre-workout drinks, the hydrochloric acid is so strong that it actually destroys the ingredients before they can be absorbed in the small intestine.

We also noticed that the antioxidants that Scivation mentions are so powerful in Novem are nothing more than Vitamins C and E.

Although both of these vitamins are essential to good health and should not be diminished, they’re hardly worth paying top dollar for in a pre-workout supplement.

The Skinny

Despite the fact that we had high hopes for Novem, we have to say that we are not quite as enchanted with this pre-workout supplement as Scivation is. For this reason, we suggest looking elsewhere to enhance your workout.
