Oh Yeah! Total Protein System is a protein blend that emphasizes the power of different forms of protein all within one complete matrix. It uses three kinds of protein, casein, whey, and whey isolates. These proteins work differently in the body, and the inclusion of all three creates an interesting complex. We decided to take a closer look at Oh Yeah’s take on protein, and wanted to give our readers our honest review of it.
What’s In It?
Oh Yeah has 32 grams of protein per serving. That’s a large dose! In fact, it’s so much that the body will have a hard time using all of it. But how Oh Yeah got around that problem was by blending the supplement up with three forms of protein to create different absorbancy levels.
PROTEIN
WHEY ISOLATE: An isolated protein that works quickly in the body, best taken directly after workout or when fast assimilation is most needed.
WHEY: A basic protein that digests at a regular (protein) rate. Great for general protein intake, and does a thorough job at providing the body with its protein needs.
CASEIN: A very slow digesting protein that sits in your stomach and slowly assimilates into the system. Great for stemming off hunger, and also effective at lowering cortisol levels during rest period (like sleep). An important element to reduce loss of muscle mass during periods of time you can’t eat.
Reviews, A Good Product?
This is a decent blend of ingredients. It’s extremely basic–almost to a fault. But some people prefer basic protein compositions and add in their other needs, like beta alanine, amino acids, BCAA’s…all these ingredients this protein is lacking. So if you’re planning on creating a repair-stack, than this might be a good, balanced addition to that. Customer reviews have been good for this product, which is always the most important aspect of any supplement, so, if its what you’re looking for, we say go for it.
